IT IS FINE. EVERYTHING IS FINE! screening
To my surprise the movie was very good. Not that I didn't expect Crispin Glover to do good when it came to filmmaking, but I haven't had a liking for what I thought this movie was going to be, for a long time. I thought it would be more art house, but this movie had everything! It was a very very good movie. Almost everything in the movie was set pieces, so you got that old studio feel, and I also got a slightly Disney and 70's exploitation feel - Sometimes it felt like a fairy tale, and other times it felt like exploitation from the 70's. In many ways it was also a heart warming movie, because Steven C. Stewart wrote it, and he had Cerebral Palsy in real life, and since he was hard to understand he was put in a nursing home, and just basically left to die, because they thought he was brain damaged, but he had a fully functional brain - He just couldn't talk properly. Which was also a good thing about the movie - You couldn't understand what he said most of the time, and it wasn't subtitled. But the response from the other actors and actresses, made you understand to some degree what he was saying. And the movie wouldn't have been the same with subtitles.
After the screening Crispin Glover had a Q&A, and his answers where very detailed and long, which was good. And after the Q&A, there was a book sale and signing. I bought OAK MOT, because I have Rat Catching, which was one of the other books they where selling. So I got in line, and I had also brought some DVD's I wanted signed, but you never know how people are going to react to this, so I asked politely - ''Is it rude of me to ask if I can get some DVD covers signed?'' - And he had no problem with it, which I was very happy about, because even thought I like his books, I am foremost a movie fan. This is why I came.
I also had a little chat with Crispin after, and I asked about my thought on the movie. I asked: ''During the making of these films, where you very inspired by Disney and 70's exploitation?'' He replied: ''I've seen many Russ Meyer films which I liked, and Steven wrote it in the early 80's, so it felt right to have that sort of feeling in the movie. But it was nothing I thought about during the making of the film.''
He has a house in The Czech Republic, where they will film the third and final instalment for the IT trilogy, he will be playing along his father, which he has never done. They are rebuilding a stable at the house as a sound studio. But this is not his next project, and he doesn't know when it will be finished. He also said to me that he doesn't even know if he will release the movies, because of how the industry will be when he finishes. He used 9 years on the first movie, so when the whole trilogy will be finished was impossible for him to say.
I had a great time, the book performance, the screening, the Q&A, the signing and our little talk was great. Everything was just amazing! Crispin Glover was a very nice guy, and had good answers for my questions.
Crispin also said he would be back to Norway to show us the first part of the IT trilogy.
Featured in the pictures are OAK MOT signed, WILLARD signed, FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE FINAL CHAPTER signed - All by Crispin Glover of course. And the last two pictures are me and my girlfriend with Crispin Glover.

Story telling time - Bearded Movie Aficionado style! Part 1: Wolf Devil Woman
He told me that this movie could be found on youtube and gave me a link. I was smiling so much that I almost had a stroke. Now I never watch movies this way. Youtube? Fuck no! BUT this movie had to be seen, and there wasn't really any other way because of the rareness of the tape. This started a journey that would make a new man! I am still your beloved Bearded Movie Aficionado - does that mean that I'll post more often? Probably not, but it made me even more man! My beard grew a little thicker and my voice got deeper and darker. Oh yes. It's true.
I went and grabbed a beer (Danish beer) before I began watching the movie. I was smiling like crazy. This was just unbelievable! How could I not have seen this? German Shepherds as wolfs, a Ku Klux Klan Devil with a southern accent, a crazy wolf woman who wears a stuffed animal of an German Shepherd puppy that's suppose to be a dead wolf on her head, gore, violence, martial arts, comedy and fantasy and more gore! This is overload for my brain. I LOVE IT!! I LOVE IT!
After 5 more beers down the hatch and 3-4 cigarettes to fill my lungs with deadly smoke, I was the happiest I have been in a long time! I couldn't believe it! It was ... it was... unbelievable. So I wish to thank Jack J and Paul for giving me the opportunity to watch this crazy out of this world worldweirdcinema flick! It was amazing.
The version I saw was probably the VCD copy, according to Jack J. What he got was the SUBTITLED Hong Kong PAL VHS. So I am very jealous, as this is not available on DVD, and the tape is very rare. Which it should be - Mondo Macabro ... I'm looking at you!
I'll leave the last word to Jack J, who described this movie best:
"No-holds-barred over-the-top wild & crazy batshit cinema"

My savior!
This is a Barcode scanner with a USB cable, which is compatible with most new computers with Windows. I got the black one. I don't order so many DVD's that I need this, but it will make the DVD registration easier, faster and more fun and I can also register the DVD's I didn't register a couple of months ago.
The reason why I register is not to be a show off, but so I can keep track of all the movies I buy. Of course I also keep them in the shelves, so I can just take a peek at them whenever I want, but I also like keeping a register on the computer.
This should be compatible with DVDProfiler, but I don't know about other DVD registration software.

Crispin Glover screening in Oslo, Norway.
The night will open with a performance based on Crispin Glover's many books, then there will be a screening of his 2007 movie IT IS FINE. EVERYTHING IS FINE! Which can only be seen in this format. Crispin Glover tours with this movie, and that is the only way he does it. Much like many other low budget directors do, like Jorg Buttgereit did with his NEKROMANTIK, also in Oslo, where Norwegian police arrested him and confiscated his role of film, but was later given back to him.
But back to Crispin - IT IS FINE. EVERYTHING IS FINE! is about Paul (played by Steven C. Stewart, who also wrote the script, but who died before the movie was finished). Paul is a learned man who has Cerebral palsy. But has a hard time making himself understandable. But in his daydreams everything is possible.
There will also be a booksale, signing and an Q&A.
The tickets are 160 Kroner (100 if your a member), and can only be bought at Cinemateket.

Holy shit! Biggest news this year!
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be releasing Fred Dekker's NIGHT OF THE CREEPS! It is coming out on a directors cut special edition DVD, which is the very first offical release of this classic. It's going to be the director's cut with the original ending.
''We're going to go balls to the wall with the special features on it...I talked to Sony today its official, we're going ahead and its coming out in October!' 'It's officially In production...and moving forward, its coming!'' - Michael 'Slipcase' Felsher - Red Shirt Pictures
This is great news. I just got the VHS, but I can't wait to see this on a proper DVD release, and next to my Monster Squad DVD on the shelf!
There is also talk about a Blu-ray release. Which would be even greater!
This is amazing news :)
